What do you want students learn in your classes? What is the expected outcome?
I want students to learn that education is a lifelong process, a never ending journey of knowledge acquisition.
Why did you start teaching?
I wanted to share my love and passion for my profession with others.
What's the best advice that you have ever received?
"This too shall pass."
What's the best advice you could give to online students?
Stay focused and organized. Give it your all and great rewards will come from your efforts.
What is the one book you think everyone should read?
What qualities make someone particularly successful in nursing?
Nurses must be caring, intelligent, flexible, resilient, inquisitive and have mastered time management, prioritization and organizational behaviors.
What do you think is the biggest challenge that nurses face today?
I believe higher patient acuity, technology, and the increased aging population are all great challenges for the nurse today.
Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students may not know about you.
My doctoral education was online, so I really do understand the needs of the online learner.
